Agricultural production and distribution by the kooperative

Abstract
Agricultural cooperatives are an important instrument for the economic and social development of a country and what is more a success in the free market economy. The agricultural cooperatives are closely related to the rural area and have generated a sustainable development of the community in terms of economic, social, cultural and environmental aspects. In fact, the cooperatives are an excellent example of companies that simultaneously address entrepreneurial and social objectives in a mutually reinforcing way. Furthermore, the cooperatives play an important role in the agricultural economy, developing regions with economic difficulties as their structure is ideal to enhance employment and social cohesion.
In this context, the cooperative model would be the appropriate solution for increasing the economic power of the small Albanian farmers, as it will allow them to obtain advantages in terms of economy of scale, access to markets, purchasing power for agricultural inputs and raw material, education on development and management systems as well as the increase of research capacities. In addition, the cooperatives could enable a vertical integration of the farmers in the agro-alimentary chain, as they concentrate in their hands the processes of storage, transformation, marketing and commercialization of the agricultural products. In this way, on the one hand, farmers benefit from the added value and on the other, consumers will obtain high quality products at better prices.
